Suet and Seed Cylinders
Seed and suet dough cylinders are a great way to bring in a wide variety of seed and suet eating birds, such as the following species in our area of Western North Carolina: Pileated, Red-bellied, Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers, White-breasted Nuthatch, Carolina Wren, Eastern Bluebird, Tufted Titmouse, and Carolina Chickadee. If you are lucky you could also get Brown Creeper, Pine and Yellow-rumped Warblers, Ruby-crowned Kinglet and Hermit Thrush.
Cylinders are available in three sizes (small cake, medium and large cylinders) in the following flavors: Cranberry Fare, Supreme Fare and Safflower Sensation. All of the cylinders have holes in the center so that they can be mounted on one of the Cylinder Feeders- such as the one at the top of the page that was photographed by Todd Arcos. One is also illustrated below - and they come with red, green or copper roofs.
We also have some very good (and fun) "stackables" - these are smaller cakes of suet, suet dough and seed & suet combinations. As their name indicates, they can be combined on your cylinder feeder to offer more suet types at one time.
The Seed Stackables are available in: Fruit and Nut, No Mess and Naturally Nuts and the Dough is available in Naturally Nuts and PBJ. In the above photo you can see the No Mess Stackable on the top, a Suet Stackable in the center and a Naturally Nuts on the bottom.
